How Does It Work?

Based on your unique needs, our medical professionals will place a bio-identical hormone pellet under your skin.

unique delivery system

When the BIO-Identical Hormone Optimization BioTE® pellets enter your body, they are immediately broken down into bioactive insulin and active pituitary hormones. Your pancreas then releases these hormones as needed by cells all over your bodies.

The pellet's unique delivery system allows for optimal extraction at every step, so you get more than just a few grams' worth!

body absorbs the hormones

BioTE® pellets are not time-released, but instead, the delivery system relies on your cardiac output. As blood flows around the pellets, your body absorbs the hormones it needs. The more active you are, the more the hormone is released.

What to Expect?

BioTE Hormone Optimization therapy is minimally invasive, and there is minimal discomfort or pain associated with the treatment.

Patients receive a local anesthetic injection at the site of insertion. During the procedure, you may experience some pressure, but it won’t be painful.
The insertion typically takes between 3-5 minutes for women. In men, the procedure will last a little longer, but it’s still quick.

Some patients experience mild swelling, which can make the pellet feel uncomfortable. Swelling typically disappears with a few days. In rare cases, it could last up to one month.

To prevent swelling, women should avoid gluteal exercises for at least 72 hours after insertion, and men should avoid this type of exercise for at least seven days.
Depending on activity levels, women will need to replace their pellets every 3-5 months, while men will need to do so every 4-6 months.
Mild fluid retention is normal in both men and women.
